Atrophus, the Third Fate of the Moerae, 2007

"Atrophus" is the third of the Fates from Greek myth. Her task is to cut the thread, spun by her sister, Clotho, and measured by her sister, Lachesis, of each person's life.  Atrophus determines the end of life.  She and her sisters act as the arbiters of Fate.  Atrophus and her sisters were my entry for the Stretching Art and Tradition 2007 challenge.

"Atrophus" is a one of a kind, 22" tall soft-sculptured, cloth doll. Her face and hands are painted with acrylic paints.
